Could a Mariner sit idle

Could a Mariner sit idle
if he heard the drowning cry?
Could a doctor sit in comfort
and just let his patients die?
Could a fireman sit idle,
let men in burn and give no hand?
Can you sit at ease in Zion,
With the world around you damned?

– Leonard Ravenhill

Only One Life

Two little lines I heard one day,
Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart,
And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one,
Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet,
And stand before His Judgement seat;
Only one life,’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, the still small voice,
Gently pleads for a better choice
Bidding me selfish aims to leave,
And to God’s holy will to cleave;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, a few brief years,
Each with its burdens, hopes, and fears;
Each with its clays I must fulfill,
living for self or in His will;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.

When this bright world would tempt me sore,
When Satan would a victory score;
When self would seek to have its way,
Then help me Lord with joy to say;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Give me Father, a purpose deep,
In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;
Faithful and true what e’er the strife,
Pleasing Thee in my daily life;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Oh let my love with fervor burn,
And from the world now let me turn;
Living for Thee, and Thee alone,
Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Only one life, yes only one,
Now let me say,”Thy will be done”;
And when at last I’ll hear the call,
I know I’ll say “twas worth it all”;
Only one life,’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Will Work For Jesus by Deborah Ann Belka

Will work for Jesus,
No matter the cost.
Looking to save,
Those who are lost.

Willing to labor,
Without a fee.
Looking for those,
He can set free.

Willing to go,
Ready to leave.
Looking to help,
Others to believe.

Will travel far,
Wide as I need.
Looking for hungry,
People to feed.

Willing to forsake,
Life as I know.
Looking to plant,
Water, feed, and sow.

Will take up cross,
With joy and pride.
Looking to gather,
for Jesus his bride.

Luke 9:22-26

A Saved Soul Smile by Robert Hedrick

As I stood in the midst of a refreshing,
brand new day,
I knew God had His reasons for allowing
me to stay.
To be a witness for Him with verses He
taught me to say,
Presenting Jesus to the lost or bringing
back one who’s gone astray.

God has a mission for my life and I am
sure it’s not complete,
Then when it is, He’ll take me out and
from this life I retreat.
Until then I intend to be ready for any
opportunity He’ll present,
To tell someone that Jesus is waiting
for them to repent.

God tells me there are many lost souls,
yet His laborers are few,
As I follow His lead, this may improve
by the time I’m through.
The number going to heaven growing as
the one to hell is less,
For some of those hearing the salvation
plan just may say yes.

God has a mission for all who are born
into this world He created,
However, only a few will ful-fill them
as His word has stated
I only have control of my mission and
I plan not to let God down,
My intention is to place a saved soul
smile onto a lost soul frown.

Only One-Step by Deborah Ann Belka

It only takes one-step . . .
to walk in His shoes
it only takes one heart
to spread the Good News.

It only takes one match,
to set a soul afire
it only takes one flame
for your faith to inspire.

It only takes one voice,
to make up God’s choir
it only takes one mind
to become a Gospel crier.

It only takes one Christian,
to make a real difference
it only takes one believer
willing to go the distance.

It only takes one-step . . .
planted on the Word
it only take one heart
for the truth to be heard.

Ezekiel 22:30 — “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.”

The Christian by Donna Hendrix

The world we know and love
Is lost to our Lord above
We selfishly go about our daily tasks
In our own glories we do bask

There are many who never go to God in prayer
Asking for His guidance and help is rare
Oft we do not have time for our neighbor
Materialistic endeavors have become our day’s labor

We have become as Jonah in the whale
Running away our first chance to sail
We do not discern to do the will of God
We go our own way, our own road to trod

We have become selfish in our wants and desires
Seeking God only when our good fortune retires
Or when our troubles become too big of a load
Only then do we invite God to our humble abode

We do not take time to thank God for His creation
We are bordering on becoming a Godless nation
We take it for granted that He will always be there
Should we ever need to call on Him in prayer

We can’t see God’s tears that flow down His face
Because He’s been forgotten by the human race
He sent us His only begotten son
So that His will on earth could be done

He wants us all to live in heaven above
To have eternal life through His abundant love
We have only to believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior
To receive forgiveness through God’s amazing grace and favor

He wants us to do good works in His name
To love everyone just as His Son who came
He wants us to leave this world behind
His will for us, we should seek to find

We need to be spreading the word of God’s love
So that others can live with Him above
God’s commission for us, we should embrace
So that many can receive God’s loving grace

So Many People Are Lost by Cindy Wyatt

So many people are lost in their sins
and will wake up in the lake of fire when they die
While alive on earth they received not the Gospel of Jesus
and believed the devil’s lie.

They thought they must be okay
because they were just doing what everyone else did
but they failed to realize the truth that most people
are on their way to hell and took Satan’s bid.

So many people are blind of their soul’s eternal plight
and are heading down the road to disaster
With more and more people being deceived each day
hell is filling up faster and faster

Who will go and warn the sinner of this eternal hell to avoid
by trusting Jesus as their savior before it is too late
that many people will hear and repent
and turn to Jesus for forgiveness without delay or wait

Forgive me O Lord my savior for not doing all I should
to witness to people of your great salvation and love them as you would

Matthew 7:13-14 — Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Saved to Serve by Albert Watson

I am His and He is mine,
Touched by Majesty divine.
A sinful man, saved from sin,
The Holy Spirit dwells within.

Darkness dispelled, crucified,
It was for me the Saviour died.
He removed, garments soiled,
Dressed in light and reconciled.

You’re a city on a hill He said,
Child of God your light now shed.
And changed, you are salinity,
Saving lives as you speak of me.

Into this lost world I say now go,
For this Earth of me should know.
And pray that all may recognize,
Believe your word and be baptized.

I am the Life the Truth the Way,
The accepted time, is now, today.
